  • Will I receive a donation receipt?

Yes! As a registered charity all donations to us are tax deductible and therefore when you donate through our website you will automatically receive a donation receipt. If for some reason you don't receive a receipt or you have donated direct to our bank account, please email us on admin@movingon.org.nz and we will arrange for a receipt to be sent to you.

  • Where does my donation go?

Your donation is paid into our therapy fund to help pay for someone’s counselling, psychotherapy or other evidenced based trauma therapy. You will also appreciate that running a charity takes time, effort and money. Therefore, in order to be able to do what we do, a small portion of donations may be used to assist with our running costs.

  • Where can I find copies of your financial accounts?

You can access our annual financial report on the Charities Services website here.

  • Do you accept self referrals?
Yes, we welcome enquiries and applications from members of the public who meet our funding criteria. However, please be aware that funding is limited and therefore not all applications can be processed until sufficient funding is available.
  • What is your funding criteria?
Currently we accept referrals for, and applications from, people who meet all of the following criteria: 1. Living in Aotearoa New Zealand 2. Identify as a woman or non-binary person 3. Are 18 years or over (unless you are a birthing parent, in which case the age requirement is 16+) 4. Have experienced a traumatic event or events 5. Do not have the financial means to pay for ongoing therapy.
  • Do you provide the therapists?
No, it is important to us that each person is able to choose the therapist they wish to engage with and therefore each person who receives funding will need to find their own therapist. Our volunteers can help with this process if needed.
  • Will funds be paid to me for my therapy?
No, we are unable to pay funds direct to you. We will pay your counsellor, psychotherapist or therapy provider directly on receipt of their invoice.
